APENOSA-D Gel (Diclofenac Diethylamine 1. 16% W/W + Capsacin 0. 025% W/W + Methyl Salycilate 3% W/W + Linseed Oil 10% W/W + Menthol 5% W/W)

APENOSA-D Gel is indicated for the relief of acute musculoskeletal pain and pain of osteoarthritis of joints amenable to topical treatment.

Diclofenac has a potent anti inflammatory and analgesic action

CAPSACIN

An alkaloid,inhibit substance P & Thus reduces the transmission of painful stimuli from the peripheral nerve fibres to the higher centres and hence effectively relieves pain

METHYL SALICYLATE

It is a counter-irritant to counter pain and provide heat effect at the local site

LINSEED OIL

Linseed oil acts as an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and analgesic agent. Both these agents increases the topical absorption of Diclofenac into skin

MENTHOL

Menthol constricts capillaries and decreases their permeability, gives sensation of coolness & provides local revulsive & moderate analgesic actions.

CARDIOVASCULAR RISK

  • Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) may cause an increased risk of serious cardiovascular (CV) thrombotic events, myocardial infarction and stroke, which can be fatal. This risk may increase with duration of use. Patients with CV disease or risk factors for CV disease may be at greater risk. 
  • Diclofenac sodium tablets are contraindicated for the treatment of perioperative pain in the setting of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery.

 

GASTROINTESTINAL RISK

  • NSAIDs cause an increased risk of serious gastrointestinal (GI) adverse events, including inflammation, bleeding, ulceration and perforation of the stomach or intestines, which can be fatal. These events can occur at any time during use and without warning symptoms. Elderly patients are at greater risk for serious GI events.
